Want to try something new, get in shape or check out the waves along this stunning Ecuadorian coastline?
The Marejada Surf School offers a warm adventure on both urban beaches in Manta and rural beaches along the ‘Ruta del Sol’ (route of the sun).

Lessons are adapted for people of any skill level.
Surf boards are provided.
The Marejada School surfing instructors are all highly skilled and have experience teaching this thrilling
sport.

No need for a wet suit! The coastal waters in the Ecuadorian province of Manabi are warm and accompanied by warm to hot air temperatures throughout the day (25-35 degrees Celsius). However, a boarding shirt can be useful, especially for bikinis. There are no coral reefs to bang into, nor sharks or jelly fish to worry about.

With our surfing lessons we offer you :

  • Two hours daily from 6:30a.m. to 8:30a.m., Monday to Friday (The best waves are at this time of day).
  • A surf board included in the price of your lesson, selected based on your size and weight.
  • Classes which are 80% practical and 20% theory .
  • Trained, experienced instructors who are with you in the water to advice on correct positioning on the board and guide you step by step in catching the waves.
  • Instructions on safety and accident prevention; daily current conditions are evaluated.
  • A low instructor to student ratio such that all students receive attention.
  • Lessons are primarily taught in Spanish for better immersion; however, the instructors can clarify in English, for confused students.
  • Local beaches: Murcielago (only 10minutes walk from the school)
  • Guided tours to more of the stunningly beautiful Ruta del Sol beaches: San Mateo, Santa Marianita, San Lorenzo, Canoa, Montanita etc…(There is a small additional cost for transportation)

At this time, all fees are payable upon arrival. Please do not sign up unless you are serious about attending; we must compensate our teachers for last minute cancellations.
